                                                   Lots of shooting going on at my Mothers 90th Birthday 2011

Kali Barry’s life has taken many turns. She’s gone from life with a learning disability, to being the Canadian Industrial sales rep of the year (1989), for J.P. Coats Thread Manufacture. She  married at age 33, which was followed by 10 years of coping with Ulcerative Colitis and it's many complications, and after undergoing 6 major surgeries, including open heart surgery (aortic valve replacement) and the birth of a 1 lb 11 once baby girl in the same year, to being reasonably healthy again. Her aortic valve (a pig valve) is now 17 years old. These valves normally need to be replaced in 7 to 15 years. She is beating the odds!

In her late 40’s she found help for her learning disability through Tomatis music therapy, www.soundtherapysystems.com  This opened up the world of art and words to her. The therapy changed how she processes the information coming through her ears to her brain. It changed her perception of  things, which has improved her reading, spelling, and organization skills, but most exciting to her, she can now draw and paint what she sees.

Kali is a member of Art Focus and Port Moody art clubs and through her art she is hoping to reach others with audio processing disorders such as ADD, Dyslexia, and Autism.
